Most notaries turn down fingerprinting work for one reason: nobody ever taught them how to roll a clean set of prints and fill out an FD-258 without getting it rejected. That is a two-hour skill, not a career change.

  • Ten modules of on-demand video, from rolling technique to the exact fields on the card.
  • Ink card and Live Scan explained separately, so you stop confusing the two on client calls.
  • Where to buy your kit, what to charge, and how people find you.
  • Two full bonus courses included — Google Maps SEO and Apostille Agent Certification.

The curriculum

Ten modules.
One per finger.

Everything is on-demand video with downloadable reference files and cheat sheets you can keep in your bag.

01 · R. Thumb

Rolling technique

Nail-to-nail rolls without smudging, over-inking, or double prints. The part everyone gets wrong on their first ten cards.

02 · R. Index

The FD-258, field by field

Every box on the card, what goes in it, and which blanks cause an agency to send the whole thing back.

03 · R. Middle

Ink card vs. Live Scan

What each one actually is, who accepts which, and how to answer the question on the phone without guessing.

04 · R. Ring

Your kit and where to buy it

Exact supplies, the vendors we order from, and what you can skip. Start on ink cards and add Live Scan later if it makes sense.

05 · R. Little

Why cards get rejected

The handful of repeat causes — light ridges, smears, wrong card stock, missing ORI — and how to catch them before the client leaves.

06 · L. Thumb

Intake and identification

What ID to accept, what to log, how to handle a minor or a client with worn ridges, and the paperwork to keep on file.

07 · L. Index

Setting your price

How providers structure a first-card fee, additional cards, travel, and after-hours — and how to quote it without apologizing.

08 · L. Middle

Mobile and on-site work

Running the service out of a bag, doing group onboarding at an employer's office, and the setup that keeps it clean in someone else's conference room.

09 · L. Ring

Who actually buys this

Licensing boards, schools, healthcare hiring, adoption agencies, immigration filings, contractors, volunteers — and how to reach each one.

10 · L. Little

Getting found locally

Listing the service so it shows up when someone in your town searches for fingerprinting instead of driving to the sheriff's office.

Who is teaching this

Mark & Grace Sias

We own Noble Notary & Legal Document Preparers in Port Orange, Florida. Fingerprinting is not a theory we researched — it is a line item on our invoices, alongside mobile notary work, deeds, apostilles, and loan signings.

We built this course because we kept getting the same question from other notaries: how hard is it, really? The honest answer is that the skill is simple and the information is scattered. So we put all of it in one place, at a price that does not require you to think about it.

On the record
  • 01Owners of a working Florida notary and legal document preparation firm, operating since 2019.
  • 02NNA-certified, bonded, and insured signing agents; Mark is a retired Florida RN and paramedic.
  • 03Amazon best-selling author of A Golden Pen: The Notary Signing Agent's Guide To Multiple Streams Of Income.
  • 04Creators of the Notary Prosperity Academy training catalog, used by notaries in all fifty states.
  • 05Hosts of The Notary Ninja Podcast.
Before you enroll

Straight answers.

Do I need a license to do fingerprinting?

It depends entirely on your state and on what you are submitting. Some states regulate Live Scan providers and require vendor approval or an agency contract; ink card fingerprinting for FBI channelers and out-of-state applicants is generally much lighter. The course walks you through how to find out what applies where you live — but you are responsible for confirming your own state and agency requirements before you take a paying client.

How much money can I make doing this?

We are not going to give you a number, because anyone who does is guessing. What you charge depends on your market, whether you travel, and who your clients are. What we can tell you is what the service costs to deliver, how providers typically structure their fees, and where the demand comes from. You do the math for your own area.

Do I need Live Scan equipment to start?

No. Most people in this course start with ink cards, because a starter kit costs less than the course itself and requires no vendor agreement. Live Scan is covered so you understand it, can answer client questions about it, and can decide later whether adding it makes sense for your market.

I am not a notary. Can I still take it?

Yes. Fingerprinting is a separate service from notarization — the course is written for notaries because that is who asks us most, but nothing in it requires a commission. Plenty of students come from legal support, HR, security, and general local service businesses.

How long does the course take?

The core training is a little over three hours of video. Most students go through it in one or two sittings and then use the cheat sheets as reference once they start taking clients. Access is lifetime, so there is no rush and no expiring enrollment.

Are the two bonus courses really included?

Yes — the Google Maps SEO training and the Apostille Agent Certification training are both released to your account at enrollment, at no additional cost. They are separate products we sell on their own; they are bundled here because fingerprinting works best when people can find you and when you have a second service to offer them.

What if it is not what I expected?

Email us and we will refund the full $97. We would rather give the money back than have someone sitting on training they are not using.
